Surrey but with travel across the County

Core hours: 37.5 hours per week

Monday-Friday (but with some weekend and evening working including on-call duties)

Salary: £32,880 – £35,940 per annum

About the Area Operations Manager Role

As an Area Operations Manager, you will manage and develop a range of community and day support services in North Surrey. You will play a central role in transforming our Community and Hub-based services. You will ensure the safety and quality of every aspect of the support we provide to individuals. You will build on existing trusted relationships with local communities to ensure we are delivering support that is innovative and brings about meaningful outcomes in four key areas: friends, relationships and community; health and wellbeing; independent living and life skills; employment, volunteering and learning.

Leading a team of managers, you will coach and develop your team to ensure person centred support is in place for individuals and evidenced in great support plans. You will inspire others to be courageous, and you will make sure that your team works effectively. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, and together you will learn and develop creative solutions.

You will play a key role in making sure that the people we support and their loved ones are fully involved as expert partners in their care.

About You

You will be an aspiring, innovative leader and have well-developed organisational skills to meet our high standards. We are looking for a manager who is passionate about the rights of people with disabilities and who can embrace our transformation journey as we strive towards community inclusion. You are likely to have previous professional experience in delivering high quality care and support in a similar environment, and you will share our Core Values. But above all, you will be motivated by wanting to make a positive difference to the lives of others.

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

Ability to communicate effectively and engage with individuals, Families/Carers and external partners
Experience of developing and managing budgets
Experience of community development and outreach services
Effective decision-making skills
Ability to successfully manage and develop a team through change
Proven experience in ensuring service growth through business development
A rounded trouble-shooter with the ability to spot problems/trends and implement improvement strategies through to completion
Good understanding of the Care Act and other relevant legislation
Understanding of technology to support our aims
An excellent team worker
To be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 unless clinically exempt
