Our role is to provide creative and sustainable support which enables people to live active and healthy lives in their local communities in ways that they choose. Our Core Values guide how we work and inform our decision making. As an organisation we are in a good place, we have a great team, and we are excited about our plans for the future.

If you have a strong belief in helping young people becoming independent and in encouraging more people to use sustainable methods of transport, you may be the right person for this role.  It could be you are already a keen bike rider, user of public transport or just have a passion for exploring alternative transport methods.  We are looking for people who have a “can do” attitude and who can motivate and inspire young people aged 11+ to learn skills for life.  Experience is less important than your attitude.

We are looking for enthusiastic, professional, and committed individuals to join Surrey Choices. You will support and work with people who have a diverse range of needs using a person-centred approach, supporting young people aged 14+ to develop their independence traveling to and from school using sustainable transport methods.  You may have experience of working with young people or just feel you could support people with diverse needs to learn to travel independently.  You will enjoy the rewards of watching the self-esteem and confidence grow when a young person gets to travel independently for the first time.  This project is not just about getting to school but also opens up a world of opportunity for their future life.

Working well within a team and lone working, you will demonstrate a practical understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment and confidentiality.

What we would like from you:

Good IT skills, particularly the use of phone apps
Flexibility to work some weekends, evenings and bank holidays
A positive attitude with the ability to motivate young people
Able to plan journeys on public transport, Cycling or lift shares
Excellent timekeeping and reliability
