Location:        Banstead, Surrey

Hours:            Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, 7 days a week (Flexible Working Hours on a 4-week rolling rota basis)

Salary:        £23,460 to £24,880 per annum

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Support Worker to join our Short Breaks Banstead team at Surrey Choices. The successful candidate will work closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to oversee the daily running of the current 6-bed respite service for people with disabilities. You will lead shifts to support the staff team, providing formal and informal supervision for junior colleagues.  You will ensure compliance with the day-to-day delivery of the service, whilst promoting a high level of person-centred support so that all individuals using the service are treated with dignity and respect, and that their independence and choices are actively promoted by a wide range of engaging activities. The successful candidate will work within the requirements of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks and ensure that all practices within the respite service actively promote the vision and values of Surrey Choices.

What we would like from you:

Previous experience of working with adults or children with disabilities
Good knowledge of CQC’s Regulatory Framework and obligations under the Care Act
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Competent IT and electronic record keeping skills
Flexible approach to the requirements of a 24hr service. Shift working required 7am to 9pm, Monday to Sunday.
Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Level 3 or willingness to work towards is desirable but not essential)
Ability to lead by example and develop the team
A positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement
Previous supervisory experience is desirable but not essential
