Head of Compliance and Safeguarding
Location: Remote working/Epsom
Salary: Circa £52,000 per annum, plus benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
This is an exciting time to join SeeAbility as we transition to our new ambitious strategy for 2021 – 2025 and increase our profile, impact and reach so more people to live, love, thrive & belong. The Head of Compliance and Safeguarding will play a critical role in this strategy, collaborating across the organisation to embed outstanding practice in the key disciplines of Safeguarding, Information Governance and delivering outstanding support in the eyes of our stakeholders and regulators. The right person will be responsible for producing, implementing and monitoring a framework of policies and procedures to ensure SeeAbility not only complies to, but exceeds regulatory requirements.
You will be highly ambitious for the lives of the people we support and to that end will continuously seek to identify and assess emerging and changes to legislation, regulations and best practice, advising the organisation on how to meet changing requirements. You will play a significant role in supporting the organisation in achieving excellent and outstanding outcomes aligned to the organisational strategy.
SeeAbility provides support to and champions better eye care for people with learning disabilities and autism, many of whom have sight loss. The ideal candidate will have:
A sound understanding of safeguarding practice, ideally developed through working with vulnerable adults. This is to include knowledge of relevant Safeguarding Policies and experience of using systems that ensure safeguarding is responded to effectively, with personalised outcomes achieved where required.
Knowledge on sector best practice to provide insight into key issues that supports continuous improvements.
An in-depth and up to date knowledge of CQC KLOES and regulatory framework, with a track record of supporting compliance to these at an organisational level to a preferred outstanding level.
Working knowledge of GDPR and all aspects of data compliance and governance and experience of developing and managing organisational regulatory compliance and assurance processes within a charity governance framework.
Ability to be a strong leader, able to inspire and develop a diverse team of subject experts, and they will have outstanding communication, listening and relationship building skills.
Most importantly you will have a demonstrable passion for, and affinity with our cause.
This role will cover responsibility for the organisation and involve travel to people’s homes as required.
