Education, Training and Employment Officer

Contract: Full time, Fixed Term, 12 months, with potential for extension

Pay: £25,313 per annum + benefits

Location: Spelthorne House, Staines-Upon-Thames

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, delivering high quality person-centred employment, training and education (ETE) support to young people, aged 18-24 living in Spelthorne, in accordance with the person-centred principles

More about the role:

·         Engage with referred young people using a person-centred approach. Key to this role will be liaising with employers / training providers / workshop providers to secure appropriate job and upskilling opportunities.

·         Receive referrals from the virtual hub and agree Individual Action Plans (IAPs) and wellbeing assessments with customers around the themes of Resilience, Creative Thinking and Mind, Body & Wellness.

·         Flexibly deliver the ETE support identified in the IAP through group contact and/or regular person-centred 1-2-1 support for up to 12 weeks.

·         Run group sessions for young people, which may also include the use of an external workshop facilitator and be hosted by a partner agency in Spelthorne or the local area (i.e., Heathrow Airport).

·         Signpost customers on issues such as housing / homelessness, childcare, and money management.

·         Work outside of standard office hours, as required, to deliver services, following lone working procedures.

·         Kind and compassionate personality

·         Willingness to learn new skills and adjust accordingly

·         A good understanding of English and Maths

·         You have a working knowledge and understanding of how to support young people in achieving and maintaining independence, and the barriers they face in accessing education, training and employment.

·         You have knowledge of safeguarding requirements and reporting concerns.

·         You can network and build strong relationships with partner agencies, community, and key stakeholders.

·         You can use IT packages and management information systems.

·         A driving license and your own vehicle is desirable – expenses can be claimed
